Hachiko
The other day I saw the movie Hachiko. It was so beautiful. It is about a loyal dog waiting for his deceased master. He would accompany his master on his way to work at the train station every day and wait for his return at the exact time. Incidentally one dog follows me from a distance when I take my dog out for a walk. In the begining I thought he would attack my dog but he doesn't! He simply follows without any purpose unconditionally! I thought of naming him Hachiko. We share an invisible bond. We are bound together in some mysterious way. He is old and limps while he walks. Yet follows me whenever he sees me! It is unbelievable!

News Update
My Roadation friend's mother and sister are missing. Our neighbor complained to the dog catchers of Bangalore municipality corporation. He complained that they were a menace because they are littering the place. She lives in the canal outside his house. She had given birth to six pups there. All her pups couldn't survive. Now only she and her eldest daughter live there. It is a warm and secure place for them. The neighbor had blocked their only entry with stones. Now the dogs are shelter-less. Street life is tough they are threatened not only by humans but also by other dogs. They cannot leave their own territory. What is their fault? Except that they were female. They have the right to live and procreate as much as we do. We are a menace to the animal kingdom. I am afraid they might be dead by now. Humans are so inhumane and have no heart! They don't care about their fellow living beings.I can do nothing about it. Except wait for them to be returned.
At midnight sleepless I went in search of them. I found them no where. Then suddenly I had a brain wave! Could they be trapped in their own home? The canal in which they lived was shut. If they are inside they cannot come out as the only exit is shut. So I opened it and waited. Lo and behold who else did we see at the exit... the mother and daughter pair! They were hungry and thirsty being captive their for a whole day. I ran and fetched their food. While my brother closed the exit while they were eating. What else could we do? If we kept it open and they would go in again and get trapped all over again! The old man will close the exit again! All is well for now! Hope to see them tomorrow!

Simba's bungee jump
One day we took Naughty and Simba to the fourth floor terrace. Both of them chased each other playfuly. Simba was three months old. Naughty was winning the game. Simba wanted to escape so he jumped the terrace walls and fell headlong down to the bottom! We were in a state of shock we thought he is no more. Then we saw that he was breathing! God had taken him in his lap and landed him safely to the ground in a sitting position! He was bleeding profusely and his leg was injured. We rushed him to the vet. She was baffled to see that after dropping from the fourth floor, how could he survive. It was God's blessing. He couldn't snatch Simba from us for the third time!
Slowly slowly time healed his wound. Our love and care gave him the strength to come back to his feet. He limped no more.He has perfectly recovered with no sign of injury!

Tug of war
I was dusting the furniture with a piece of cloth. I wanted Simba to accompany me. So I waved the cloth in front of him several times and beckoned him. He came for the interesting piece of cloth not for me! Then began the great game of tug of war between us. He pulled hard and got what he wanted. Yeah Simba won!!!

Update on my Roadation friend's status
I am happy to report that my roadatian friend has found a new home and it is pleased with its new master. We spring cleaned it and gave it a good send off and transported it safely in its new master's care. We are constantly in touch with him and get to know how it is getting on with its new life. I am relieved that it is in safe hands. Apparently it is very adjusting and adaptable. I will go see it once in a while.
Simba's Second Coming
Simba is the apple of our eye. He is with us for twelve years. It was a miracle how he came to our life. My parents never wanted to keep pets though I begged them to buy me one. My wish was granted when a friend of father’s asked us to keep their dog till they come back from vacation. I leaped at the opportunity of being in the company of a puppy. His name was Prince, a White German Spitz. Since then we couldn’t bare to part with him as we became emotionally attached to him. So Prince became Naughty our pet. Naughty was Simba’s father. We wanted to keep Naughty with us through his son even when he is no more. So we crossed Naughty and we got Simba. But my father vehemently opposed it. There was a huge domestic dispute over keeping Simba with us. My father was unhappy and angry with us because we didn’t listen to him. He even said that he would throw the puppy into the sea and proceeded to do so! But the little one understood and went behind me, under the bed while I stopped my father to go anywhere near Simba. Under these dire circumstances how could a small puppy survive! The negative anti vibration took a heavy toll on little Simba and he died under mysterious circumstances. We couldn’t bear to part with Simba. So we crossed Naughty again and prayed to God that he must return Simba back to us. So on 20th December 1998 Simba was born again to Steffy , a female Pomeranian. Simba’s mother’s owner wanted to give away the six pups and we wanted to keep one. But again we couldn’t keep Simba as my father was home. But God was with us, my mother’s friend agreed to keep Simba for the time being. So it was decided that Simba will be kept in the foster home till we can buy time to Keep Simba with us. So without my father’s knowledge I carried little Simba on a bag to his foster mother like Vasudev did to Lord Krishna. I stealthily went to see Simba everyday. Simba was taken good care off and was growing healthy and strong. As soon as my father went out of station, that very moment we brought Simba home. Everything was settled with father via letter exchange. Now Simba is there with us filling the void Naughty has left us with. But who will console us in Simba’s absence? This worries us all the time as we cannot defy father again.
My roadatian's new status; A puppy day of my life
My friend feels settled at home in our house. It doesn't think that its world is all upside down. It is separated from its mother, elder sister and its dead sibling. It was happy in the street, though dangerous, it was his life! Its stay here is temporary because my father won't allow it to stay here. What the heck, I was ready to fight anything to keep it here with us. The pup feels this is its world. It came and conquered our hearts. It made soft puppy noises to constantly seek our attention once in every while. It was a good sport always ready for a game ,waging its tail in gratefulness and standing on two feet to lick my face. It couldn't stay locked anywhere alone. It roamed the entire house like a continuous bouncing ball, never sticking in one place. Its stay with us for a day left us with long lasting love and memories to be cherished forever. It has made a soft spot for itself in our hearts . It lives in our hearts forever.

My Furry Roadatian Friends
The list goes on.........in memorium
Steffy- Our neighbor who was not fed regularly and was left alone in the street to fend for herself.I couldn't save her from dog catchers.
Gabar Singh & Basanti- Daily stalkers and customers at our free hotel service.
Goldie and family availed our free food delivery service. She was lost for six months. Miraculously she found her way back to us and found a kind hearted soul who adopted her and her family before moving to Goa.
Tommy spent most of his time in our home and always announced his arrival and ordered his food in good time. We arranged for his care before we went out of station.
Tofu, Brownie, Lengri and family availed my free food home delivery service every day.
Chutku too came for food a caring mother who was killed because she gave birth to six pups in the street. The pups were only three days old when she disappeared. They had not even opened their eyes and had to be bottle fed instead of breast feeding from their mother. Fortunately a kind lady volunteered to keep them in her animal shelter.
Blacky and family feeding everyday till date. Alas we couldn't save four pups from road accidents! Gave two pups for adoption.
Adopt A Dog
I feed stray dogs all day and watched them die every day.I cannot keep dogs at home as I have a dog at home. One of the street dogs gave birth to six puppies three blacks and three black & whites.Four died in road accidents. Two were adopted, one was returned back, left to die! It died in a road accident yesterday. His body is still lying there. The last one black and white pup has to be saved. So we brought it home but my pet dog is not allowing it. The pup has to be placed somewhere where it will be well taken care of like we do.

Roadatians
The neighbor hood stray dog gave birth to six pups (three blacks and three black and whites) .Three died in road accidents. Only two are fighting for survival. Someone adopted one pup but returned it back soon. They need a home.
"We were six born in the street
In road accidents we bleed
No crumbs to eat
Not a drop to drink
No where to rest my feet
Can't sleep a wink
In cold or heat
My siblings are dead
Where do I head?
I am the only one left
Save me from death
And this deadly street!"
Save the stray dogs
Stray dogs cannot survive in the street. They fend for themselves by begging for food, water and shelter. They die of accidents everyday as they are not used to the traffic created by man. It was us who brought them from the jungle to guard us and abandoned them in the street. Dogs have forgotten their capacity to hunt in human company. They are used to city life and cannot relocate to jungle life now. Man have deprived them from their hunting capabilities to stay alive and made them dependent. Humans are dangerous to dogs rather than vice versa. We are calling dog's a menace in the street but it was us who brought them to street. They have a right to live as much as we do. It is our duty to adopt them.If each one adopts one dog then there won't be any problems in the street. We are solely responsible for this. How can man be so irresponsible. We domesticated them and when they are not needed we terminate them. What kind of humanity is this? We have become enemies to our best friends.
